Challenge - 2006
"Houses, Tree, and Leaves"
RULES

This year’s challenge theme will be Houses, Tree, and Leaves. (Block of the Month for 2006). You must use at least one of the blocks provided to you in the block of the month kits. You may use all the blocks or you may choose to incorporate some of the 3" or 6" patterns provided you in your kits, and you may use any other blocks you choose.

The quilt can be as small as 9" square, but no larger than 36" square. The quilt can be a rectangle but the combined total of all sides of the quilt can not exceed 144".

The quilt may be original or not. Any quilting technique may be used or a combination. Embellishments may be used. The quilt must be finished and quilted.

The contest is open to 2006 Over the Mountain Guild members only. Each member may enter only once and the entry must have been made since March 2006.

Quilts must be submitted at the November 14, 2006 meeting. No quilts will be accepted after November 14, 2006.

Each quilt must have a sleeve (2" - 4"). Your quilt must be labeled with your name and name of the quilt. Submit your quilt in a cloth bag (pillow case) that has your name on the outside of the bag.

Please do not show your quilt to other members. This is important as prizes will be determined solely by secret ballot votes by guild members.

At the December 12, 2006 meeting the quilts will be displayed. Viewers choice voting will take place to determine first place, second place and third place. Prizes will be awarded.

Program committee members will not participate in the challenge.
